Position: Leadership Development Program - Engineering, Electrical (Starts June 2027)

Overview

Accelerate your engineering career and evolve into a future technical leader with RTX’s two‑year rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program in Electrical Discipline. The program offers challenging, high‑visibility assignments that allow you to build a powerful global network, receive high‑caliber training, professional mentoring, and hands‑on experience in design, prototyping, and testing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete three 8‑month rotational assignments across various U.S. locations, adapting quickly to new technology centers, business units, and engineering teams.
  • Execute core engineering milestones within specialized program tracks, including electrical systems and components, prototyping, hardware simulations, calculations and validation, and comprehensive design documentation.
  • Take ownership of frontline, hands‑on electrical engineering deliverables and expand your professional and technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with systems, software, and program management teams to define electrical requirements and optimize architectural system integration.
  • Present technical reviews, simulation data, and strategic engineering updates clearly and effectively to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Candidate Qualifications – Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM major, obtained by the start date.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate operationally to various RTX geographic locations across the United States for each 8‑month assignment.
  • Relevant internship, co‑op, or professional work experience within an electrical engineering, hardware prototyping, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or academic coursework across core electrical engineering domains such as electrical systems, components, hardware prototyping, electrical simulations, and design documentation.
  • Proficiency with common electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, vector network analyzers, signal generators) for circuit characterization, debugging, and validation.
Candidate Qualifications – Preferred
  • Active U.S. government secret security clearance.
  • Self‑motivated and team‑oriented work style with agility to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic technology environment.
  • Experience or coursework in Analog or Digital Electronics, Mixed‑Signal Circuit Design, Circuit Analysis, Digital Signal Processing, or PCB design.
  • Experience with electrical simulation and design tools such as PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB, or Altium Designer.
  • Academic exposure to microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, or embedded system architectures.
  • Practical experience in systems integration, multidisciplinary test environments, or hardware validation testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methods and project‑management workflows.
  • Prior experience as an engineering intern or co‑op within an RTX business unit.

USD – 139,000
