OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to lead commissioning efforts across complex building, infrastructure, and mission‑critical projects. This role combines field and office‑based responsibilities and requires a strong technical background in mechanical systems, utility infrastructure, building automation systems, and facility operations. The successful candidate will lead commissioning activities from planning through execution, including startup, testing, QA/QC inspections, functional performance testing, system verification, and project closeout.
This position offers significant client interaction and leadership responsibilities while supporting operational excellence and system reliability.
- Lead and execute commissioning activities for mechanical, plumbing, utility infrastructure, and facility systems.
- Direct QA/QC inspections, startup verification, and functional performance testing activities.
- Review project designs, specifications, commissioning plans, and testing procedures.
- Manage commissioning processes for new construction, renovation, retro‑commissioning, and asset management projects.
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify, document, and resolve system deficiencies throughout project execution.
- Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, and project deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to commissioning team members.
- Ensure systems meet operational, safety, performance, and maintainability requirements.
- Support mission‑critical, commercial, institutional, and industrial facility projects.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive commissioning experience involving utility infrastructure systems, mechanical and plumbing systems, building automation systems (BAS) and controls, building/facility systems and components, and facility operations and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, and TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) processes.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including multi‑week assignments and occasional long‑term project deployments.
- Mission‑critical or data center commissioning experience.
- Industry‑recognized commissioning certification (CxA, CCP, CBCP, ACG CxA, or equivalent).
- Experience leading commissioning teams and complex projects.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing experience.

Important NotesQualified candidates must possess building systems commissioning experience. Experience limited solely to petrochemical, refinery, or oil & gas commissioning environments does not meet the requirements of this position.
