The Opportunity
As the Federal Civil Engineer
, you will have the opportunity to function as a technical specialist or in a lead role, apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision, provide technical guidance over a group, and be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
- Develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and company policies.
- Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Apply knowledge and comply with the quality program relative to assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with the quality program.
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
- Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection.
- Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
- Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques to analysis problems and methods.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to lower level team members to develop depth of project execution staff.
- Review lower level engineering work or assignments.
- Lead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activity, or serve as the responsible charge for a project.
- Coordinate with all internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects.
- Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work.
- Support business development or pursuit activities and offer other services to clients.
- Recognize as a technical specialist and provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area.
- Design a complete project of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects on the complex technical challenges.
- Foster knowledge management and provide mentoring.
- Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
- Assist with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions.
- Participate in career planning, learning and development.
- Mentor lower level professionals and identify successors to train in the specifics of their role.
- Assist with resource management strategy.
- Authencate responsibilities that include ensuring policies, procedures and processes are implemented and communicated for the work group.
- Ensure adherence to corporate and division programs.
- Approve timesheets and expense reports.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accreditation program or equivalent experience in engineering work.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support Engineer of Record requirements for projects.
