Tax Manager, CoStar Group – Arlington, VA

CoStar Group is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real‑estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. The Tax Manager will support the company’s evolving and diverse needs by obtaining and analyzing information to meet tax accounting and compliance requirements, preparing tax provisions and disclosures, and managing US federal, state, and local tax returns.

• Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 financial reporting for domestic and international entities, including preparation of effective tax rate, current/deferred income taxes, and valuation allowance issues.
• Prepare US federal, state, income, and franchise tax returns, estimates, and extensions.
• Perform tax research and planning on various tax issues.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Department to capture all information required for tax accounting and compliance.
• Maintain tax accounts and required reconciliations.
• Assist in the resolution of federal, state, and local tax notices and audits.
• Complete other assigned duties as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college or university.
• At least 6 years of experience with a Big 4 or public‑accounting firm supporting public companies.
• Progressive responsibility in tax accounting and/or tax compliance.
• Proficiency in One Source tax provision software and ASC 740.
• Knowledge of tax accounting requirements under US GAAP.
• Experience with tax research tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, CoPilot).
• Strong work‑paper technique and organizational skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to handle multiple projects.

• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• At least one year of corporate, in‑house experience at a publicly traded company.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive process efficiencies and operational improvements.
