Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of financially complex client relationships within the mass affluent market segment across the Truist footprint. In de novo circumstances, establish new managed portfolios for clients within the mass affluent segment. Utilize objective financial planning and advisory concepts to develop, deepen relationships, and deliver an integrated suite of retail solutions—including banking, mortgage, planning, investments, and insurance services—leveraging Truist’s referral network to generate client acquisition and provide comprehensive advice and solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mass affluent clients, selling, delivering, and providing ongoing service for fee‑income and retail banking products and services that meet the needs of this market segment.
  • Establish and periodically update an understanding of clients’ financial needs and conditions through sound profiling and personal financial planning analysis. Proactively work with financial advisors on assigned investment accounts to ensure adherence to investment and asset‑allocation objectives and policies.
  • Stay informed about changing economic, legal, financial‑planning, investment trends, and general market and business issues affecting mass affluent clients. Act as a personal financial planning/advisory resource for clients, their attorneys, and CPAs.
  • Meet revenue growth, profitability, and retention goals by developing new clients, expanding services, and marketing new products to existing clients. Participate in the sales management process, including the delivery of excellent client service behaviors, support for Truist segmentation models, use of the automated sales process, and support for referral processes and guidelines.
  • Maintain client‑service knowledge of Truist teammate product and service specialists (IRM partners) to ensure an integrated and seamless approach to servicing and enhancing the client portfolio. Advocate for clients with IRM partners.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with external centers of influence to enhance business‑development efforts.
  • Work within the audit, compliance, and regulatory framework to ensure a high‑quality, compliant portfolio of client relationships.
  • Participate in the ongoing implementation and development of the Premier Banking program, including processes, products, services, and operating policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, accounting, finance, banking, or equivalent financial services experience and related training.
  • Minimum of five years of financial services experience with clients in banking, investments, and/or retail lending (including Retail, Wealth, Advisory, and/or Retail Lending experience) or one year in a financial client‑relationship manager role.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal financial planning, advisory, insurance, and investment management/asset‑allocation concepts, and an understanding of retail credit and traditional retail bank products for the mass‑affluent market.
  • Active Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, 66 (or Series 63 and 65 in lieu of 66), and applicable insurance licenses (Life, Health, and Variable). Licenses must be obtained or transferred within the specified periods upon job entry. Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days and hold an applicable NMLS background check.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and relationship‑management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or banking.
  • Mass‑affluent banking experience.
  • Completion or enrollment in professional certification programs such as CFP, CFA, AAMS®, CTFA®, CLU®, CRPC®, or ChFC®.
  • Completion of a Leadership Development Program or Banking School, such as Truist Leadership Development Program or Banking School.
