Overview
Kearney & Company is a leading accounting firm specialized in government financial services for the Department of War.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to conduct detailed financial analysis, develop budgets, perform cost estimation, and provide recommendations to optimize financial resources for our government/Department of War client.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis including budgeting, decision support, financial execution, data analysis, continuous process improvement and business process reengineering, and budget operations across DoW appropriations.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop financial models and support business initiatives.
- Assist with development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation processes.
- Maintain knowledge of Federal/DoW Financial Management trends, regulations, legislation policies, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members in financial analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10+ years experience as a DoW Financial Analyst or Budget Analyst.
- At least 5 years with the Department of the Air Force FM experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, budgeting principles, and cost estimation methods.
- Proficient in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.
- Experience with DoF Financial Accounting and Budgetary systems (DEAMS, CRIS, BQ, FMSuite, AFM, etc.).
- Familiarity with federal government financial management regulations, OMB Circulars, and FASAB Standards.
- Ability to go 5 days Onsite at the Pentagon.
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher Top Secret or TS/SCI) and U.S. citizenship.
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration.
- DAF Reimbursement experience.
- Experience with higher headquarters programs (PBAS, TMT, Advana, etc.).
- Relevant certifications:
DoD FM Certification, CPA, CGFM, CDFM. - Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
The expected salary range for this position is $103,000 to $180,000. This range is base pay only and does not include overtime, bonuses, or company contributions. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, clearance level, and other factors.
