The firm provides growth capital solutions to institutions and fund sponsors in more than 30 countries.
The Research Associate (Technology Sector) will support the Senior Research Analyst in covering portfolio companies and evaluating new investment opportunities within the technology sector. The position is structured as a 2–4 year role with a clear path to internal promotion based on performance, or preparation for external opportunities at top investment firms.
Work is hybrid (three days per week in-office including Tuesdays and Wednesdays) at Sands Capital's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.
Core responsibilities include building and maintaining detailed financial models and data sheets to support investment decisions; gathering and analyzing data from primary and secondary sources to uncover insights; drafting investment cases, research notes, and other analytical communications; writing quarterly earnings notes following company results; and preparing for and contributing to meetings with portfolio managers, company management teams, and industry experts.
Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree—preferably in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field—with 1–3 years of experience in sell-side research, investment banking, consulting, or an investment management role. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Fact Set or Bloomberg is required. Mandarin Chinese skills are a plus.
