Lead Financial Analyst (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Arlington, VA |
Work Arrangement: In office, Monday – Friday

At CoStar Group, our finance group centralizes transaction processes, providing accurate reporting, financial resolutions, and proper forecasting analysis. The Lead Financial Analyst will support the Business Unit Finance Team for the Commercial Real Estate business, performing financial analysis/modeling, developing management/sales reporting, and conducting variance analysis.

• Work closely with finance staff and non-financial professionals (e.g., President/General Managers, Sales Leaders, Marketing, Product) to develop budgets and forecasts and maintain those forecasts in the budgeting system.
• Focus on revenue drivers such as sales rep productivity, sales activities, performance, and SaaS metrics to identify growth drivers.
• Partner with Sales and Executive Leadership to support reporting needs, highlight operational performance, present actionable insights, and measure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Maintain customer analysis including penetration, total addressable market sizing, and performance against specific sales campaigns.
• Track expenses, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling to communicate impacts on business unit profitability.
• Collaborate with Marketing to review advertising campaign effectiveness, perform search engine marketing cost analysis, and identify opportunities for more efficient spending.
• Assist with design and creation of PowerPoint presentations for management presentations to support quarterly business reviews and strategic decision making.
• Evaluate, model, and analyze M&A targets that align with supported business units, as necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person institution.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, analytics, and/or sales operations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling skills.
• Experience using financial and budgeting applications.

• Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience in a publicly traded or large SaaS company FP&A.
• Analytical business background, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and high attention to detail.
• Strong ability to work in a fast‑paced and challenging environment.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, EPM, Smart View.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and/or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting.
