Chief Financial Officer, USA - Renewable Energy
A leading international renewable energy company is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its U.S. finance function. This organization is a well-established independent power producer with a strong presence across multiple global markets and a rapidly expanding portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the U.S. business, including financial planning, reporting, risk management, and strategic decision-making. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance and support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling activities
- Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and financial risk
- Provide strategic insights and financial guidance to support business decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operational and commercial teams
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in senior management within the U.S. market
- Experience working in a Public Company and/or a Global company
- Proven leadership capability with experience building and developing teams
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred
- Background in a high-growth or project-driven environment; renewable energy or infrastructure experience is advantageous
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and reporting expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington DC area
