Overview

Position located in the Drug Enforcement Administration, Diversion Control Division, UN Reporting & Quota Section. Primary purpose is to design, develop, and adapt mathematical methods and techniques and utilize planning and evaluation activities to ensure the validity of statistical information used for agency and Federal policy decisions in the development, direction and coordination of the Diversion Control effort.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet the Basic Qualification – Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) and Specialized Experience requirements.
  • For GS‑13 applicants: either (A) a degree with 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics (at least 12 mathematics and 6 statistics) or (B) a combination of education and experience totaling the same quotas plus appropriate experience or additional education.
  • Qualifying experience must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS‑12 level.
  • Specialized experience required for GS‑13: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑12 level, including performing at least four of the following six duties:
    • Design, develop, and adapt mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes.
    • Ensure validity of statistical data for policy decisions and resource allocation.
    • Prepare complex technical reports, presentations, and statistical materials based on data collected and analyzed; conduct research, collect data, reduce findings to facts, interpret and document findings.
    • Use mathematical and statistical measures/models to resolve problems and make recommendations.
    • Defend or explain conclusions resulting from evaluation of data.
    • Evaluate precision and validity of estimates and investigate sources and magnitude of error in data.
  • Time‑in‑grade:
    Applicants must meet time‑in‑grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
