The AWS Infrastructure Finance team provides end-to-end financial support, driving AWS to be the lowest cost provider in cloud computing and a leader in customer experience. We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the AWS Energy & Sustainability Finance team within the AWS Infrastructure Finance organization. The AWS Energy team is responsible for delivering energy to AWS data centers, procuring carbon‑free energy to support sustainability goals, and developing our sustainability and carbon‑free energy strategy.
Our team provides critical support in the form of financial valuation, investment decisions, and driving the global portfolio strategy for Amazon’s energy portfolio.
- Drive reporting for the AMER energy portfolio, supporting sustainability goals and scaling AWS data center growth.
- Develop deep knowledge of the energy markets and of the energy deals in the portfolio.
- Lead financial evaluation and analysis of complex, long‑term energy agreements; build comprehensive models to assess deal economics, risks, and returns; provide strategic recommendations that shape procurement strategies.
- Report on the financial performance of the energy portfolio and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and bi‑annual reviews.
- Develop automated, web-based tooling and reporting to support financial reporting on operating renewable deals, energy deals, and energy capex.
- Support end‑to‑end energy portfolio: deal valuation processes, FP&A reporting, opex and capex portfolio reporting, month‑end close processes, automation support, and more.
- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role.
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
- 5+ years of leading cross‑functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analyses, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business.
- Experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and implementing escalation plans.
- Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting results.
- Experience automating finance processes and integrating tools and systems for end‑to‑end portfolio reporting.
Base salary ranges: USA, VA, Arlington – $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually; USA, WA, Seattle – $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually.
Your Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
