Role OverviewAs Manager of Project Value, you will lead Fluence’s investment modeling and valuation capability, developing advanced IRR/NPV frameworks that underpin both internal decision-making and customer-facing value propositions. This role translates technical and commercial inputs into investment-grade insights. You should be able to understand BESS investments like a leading project investor or IPP, and then work with multiple different teams within Fluence to deliver this commercial insight and expertise.
Key Responsibilities Valuation Framework Ownership- Develop and standardize IRR, NPV, and TCO models across regions and use cases
- Define modeling assumptions, methodologies, and governance
- Ensure alignment between pricing, cost inputs, and valuation outputs
- Build and review complex financial models for BESS and hybrid energy projects
- Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessment
- Translate system performance and market conditions into financial outcomes
- Support strategic deals with investment-grade valuation analysis
- Partner with commercial teams to translate financial outputs into compelling customer value stories
- Inform pricing strategy through valuation insights
- Report insight to executives to influence key product roadmap decisions
- Develop expertise in key markets (e.g., utilities, data centers, renewables)
- Incorporate market structures, revenue streams, and regulatory factors into models
- Act as a subject matter expert on project finance and valuation
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field (MBA a plus)
- 4–7+ years of experience in project finance, valuation, or investment analysis – ideally at an IPP or similar entity
- Advanced IRR/NPV modeling expertise
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries preferred
- Strong communication skills for translating financial insights into business decisions and presenting complex topics to executive level audience
Is an onsite position, and we are seeking candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Fluence office and are available to work onsite four days per week.
