About Excel Group

Excel Group is a hotel private equity firm focused on premium-branded limited/select-service hotels. We specialize in acquiring hotel investments (including development), minimizing risk and maximizing performance by employing a comprehensive, data-centric approach across all facets of the company. Since its founding in 2011, the company has executed 55 hotel acquisitions. In 2025, Excel Group closed on a $400M venture with a first-tier global investment manager to acquire premium-brand select-service hotels and is in the process of closing on a $200M discretionary investment vehicle with plans to acquire $500M+ of investments over the next 2–3 years.

The firm's expertise in asset management, acquisitions, and development has helped achieve risk-adjusted returns that consistently outperform industry averages. The company's strategy is differentiated by strong off-market deal sourcing, strategic market positioning, creative deal structuring, and leveraging an extensive database to maximize benchmarking opportunities. Excel Group maintains a competitive advantage by utilizing data analytics and technology to drive value through proactive asset management with multiple institutional management company partners.
