What You Will Do
The Federal Financial Management Consultant will be expected to manage work streams and contribute directly to financial reporting deliverables. Responsibilities should emphasize both technical quality and client-facing execution.
- Support preparation, review, and analysis of federal financial statements, notes, reconciliations, and management reporting packages.
- Assess reporting processes, identify control gaps, and recommend practical improvements that support audit readiness and compliance.
- Apply federal financial management concepts, including U.S. Standard General Ledger, Treasury reporting, OMB reporting guidance, and applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate with client finance, accounting, budget, and program stakeholders to resolve data issues and document decisions.
- Develop clear work papers, issue logs, status updates, and executive-ready materials that explain findings and recommended actions.
- Coach analysts or consultants on workstream tasks, quality expectations, and client communication norms.
- Support proposal, account planning, or capability-building efforts related to federal financial management when needed.

- Support preparation, review, and analysis of federal financial statements, notes, reconciliations, and management reporting packages.
- Assess reporting processes, identify control gaps, and recommend practical improvements that support audit readiness and compliance.
- Apply federal financial management concepts, including U.S. Standard General Ledger, Treasury reporting, OMB reporting guidance, and applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate with client finance, accounting, budget, and program stakeholders to resolve data issues and document decisions.
- Develop clear work papers, issue logs, status updates, and executive-ready materials that explain findings and recommended actions.
- Coach analysts or consultants on workstream tasks, quality expectations, and client communication norms.
- Support proposal, account planning, or capability-building efforts related to federal financial management when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum Five(5) years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, financial management consulting, or a closely related field.
- Experience supporting federal agencies, government contractors, or public-sector financial management environments.
- Working knowledge of federal financial reporting and federal budgetary reporting concepts, reconciliations, internal controls, and year-end close activities.
- Prior consulting experience with federal CFO organizations, financial statement audit support, Treasury reporting, GTAS, DATA Act, or OMB A-136 reporting activities.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and translate technical findings into concise client-facing recommendations.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience using financial systems or business intelligence tools is beneficial.
- Ability to meet federal client suitability, access, or clearance requirements where applicable.
- Must be US Citizen and must be able to obtain obtain MBI clearance.
- CPA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, or similar professional certification.
- Experience supervising junior team members and coordinating deliverables across cross-functional teams.
