Duties Help As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
* Manages financial reporting for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) programs, including the preparation of complex reports for Congress and other external entities.
* Develops, implements, and monitors financial management system procedures to improve the financial management of Security Cooperation (SC) programs worldwide.
* Performs financial analysis of SC products and evaluates the effectiveness of financial management programs and systems in meeting established goals.
* Serves as the focal point for financial coordination with the Department of State (DOS), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and foreign government representatives.
* Provides expert advice to program managers on financial regulations and takes corrective action on audit findings from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Inspector General (IG). Requirements Help Conditions of employment

This position is telework eligible Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
* conducting financial reporting, compliance, and analysis for Security Cooperation (SC) programs such as Foreign Military Sales (FMS) or Foreign Military Financing (FMF); preparing complex financial reports for internal and external use and responding to audit findings; developing and implementing financial management policies, procedures, and systems; and analyzing financial data to ensure policy compliance and evaluate program effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
