Weapons Systems Policy Analyst

Overview

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The incumbent will serve as a Weapons Systems Policy Analyst, responsible for developing, coordinating, and representing Department of War policies in the area of weapon systems and related technologies.

• Interpret and apply national security and arms transfer policy guidelines in the context of foreign defense sales programs, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
• Formulate recommendations related to technology transfers, defense production, and weapons sales in support of U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives.
• Maintain a detailed familiarity with U.S. Security Cooperation and Security Assistance processes.
• Recommend changes, modifications, or development of new practices to improve procedural and technical implementation of Security Cooperation programs.
• Prepare briefing papers, position papers, or responses to other inquiries, with the ability to assess, interpret or provide input on technical matters related to weapons systems and defense sales.
