Internship Opportunity
This position will support CTA's trade and supply chain policy advocacy within the Government Affairs Department. Critical duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct research on international trade policy developments, including tariffs, trade agreements, export controls, and regulatory changes.
- Assist in preparing policy memos, briefing materials, research reports, and slide decks related to CTA's trade policy priorities.
- Compile data and background information for presentations, reports, and policy discussions.
- Maintain and update the team's trade policy advocacy document throughout the year to reflect current priorities and developments.
- Track legislative and regulatory developments by maintaining and updating the internal trade legislation tracker, tariff action tracker, and tariff rate tracker.
- Draft trade advocacy blurbs and updates for inclusion in the broader Government Affairs Council (GAC) newsletter.
- Assist in organizing meetings, events, and briefings with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and action items for Trade Policy Working Group meetings.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for trade team activities related to CES and other events.
Work experience:
- Excellent writing skills is strongly desirable.
- Prior internship, research, or academic experience related to public policy, international trade, economics, political science, government affairs, or a related field preferred.
- Experience conducting policy research or data analysis is a plus.
- Experience working for an association is also a plus.
Education and knowledge/skills/abilities:
- Recently completed Bachelor's or current Master's student in a degree field such as political science, public policy, economics, international business, international trade, international relations, or other related field.
- Fluency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are highly preferred.
- Personal interest in technology policy and issues.
- Personal interest in a career in international trade policy.
Additional information:
- Travel to CES 2027 is required.
- PAID Internship.
