Director, Land Forces Division

The Director, Land Forces Division is responsible for initiating, conducting, and supervising assessments of land force programs. The incumbent is responsible for generating and evaluating alternative force postures and programs and preparing issue papers on program alternatives for Deputy Secretary and Secretary of War decisions. Candidates should be committed to improving the efficiency of the Federal government, passionate about the ideals of our American republic, and committed to upholding the rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications:

Broad knowledge of current U.S. Defense postures, policies, and objectives. In particular, in-depth knowledge of U.S. military force planning and analysis involving several of the following: land force structure, land force effectiveness, and land force weapons systems.

Demonstrated ability to leverage a broad knowledge of current U.S. Defense postures, policies, and objectives to develop and apply advanced analytical techniques, including mathematical models and operations research methods, that evaluate the costs, effectiveness, and strategic benefits of alternative military investments to drive decisions within the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.

In addition to the Technical Qualification Requirements listed above, all new entrants into the Senior Executive Service (SES) under a career appointment will be assessed for executive competency against the following five mandatory ECQs.   Driving Efficiency - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to strategically and efficiently manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades.
