Demonstrated experience developing executive-level strategic communications, speeches, congressional products, policy documents, and executive correspondence supporting Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer leadership within the Department of Defense. Position Summary The Senior Strategic Writer provides executive-level communications, strategic writing, and editorial support to Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), Installations and Logistics (I&L), Logistics Current and Future Operations Branch (LPOV). Working on-site at the Pentagon, the Senior Strategic Writer develops speeches, executive correspondence, congressional testimony input, strategic communications products, policy papers, executive briefings, and organizational messaging supporting Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer leadership.
The Senior Strategic Writer collaborates closely with the Strategic Process SME and Government leadership to translate strategic guidance, organizational priorities, and complex logistics initiatives into concise, accurate, and executive-quality written products. The position supports communications planning, Marine Corps Gazette publications, senior leadership event preparation, executive briefings, Force Design initiatives, and strategic communications at classification levels up to TS/SCI.
Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen with an Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and ability to obtain a CAC card.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Strategic Studies, or related field.
Eight (8) years of professional experience developing executive-level written communications for Department of Defense, Headquarters Marine Corps, Joint Staff, or other Federal headquarters organizations.
Demonstrated experience supporting Senior Executive Service (SES), General Officer, Flag Officer, or equivalent executive leadership.
Proven ability to transform complex technical, operational, logistics, and policy information into concise executive-level communications.

Experience reviewing, assessing, researching, and editing concepts, policies, strategies, doctrine, planning documents, and executive products.
Experience supporting communications planning and organizational messaging initiatives.
Experience supporting congressional responses and executive-level strategic communications.
Exceptional technical writing, editing, proofreading, and executive briefing skills.
Experience coordinating document staffing through Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, ETMS2, or similar Headquarters workflow systems.
Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Strategic Communications, Public Policy, National Security, Journalism, English, or related discipline.
Experience supporting Headquarters Marine Corps, Department of the Navy, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, or Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Experience supporting Marine Corps logistics, Force Design, modernization initiatives, or expeditionary operations.
Familiarity with Marine Corps correspondence standards and executive staffing processes.
Experience writing for congressional audiences and senior Department of Defense leadership.
Public Affairs, Strategic Communications, or Defense Information School (DINFOS) training.
Experience supporting Marine Corps Gazette publications or other military professional journals.
Primary Duties Develop executive-level speeches, talking points, correspondence, strategic communications products, and briefing materials supporting SES and General Officer leadership.
Draft congressional testimony input, executive responses, issue papers, white papers, decision memoranda, and information papers supporting Headquarters Marine Corps initiatives.
