Duties
* Review written material for editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content guidance.
* Advise staff and action officers on preparing clear, accurate, and concisely written documents representing major management issues addressed to senior civilian and military executives within the Department of the Army.
* Control special projects and assignments, preparing written products and information papers on a wide variety of issues for audiences at the highest level of the Army's civilian and military leadership
* Establish new presentation formats to ensure that material is presented clearly and with no possibility of misunderstanding.
* Control and review incoming actions and taskings, which originate form a variety of sources. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel may be required approximately 10% of the time.

One year of specialized experience which includes editing official correspondence, policy documents, and information papers for signature by senior general officers, flag officers, or Senior Executive Service (SES) members within a large military or federal government organization, maintaining an organization-wide editorial and writing style guide, policy regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), negotiated significant revisions with authors and stakeholders using tact and diplomacy, and managing and tracked high-priority writing and editing tasks using a task management system like the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution.

This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
