You will serve as the Deputy General Counsel with the Office of General Counsel located in Arlington, VA.

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is the Nation's oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The USMS consists of a Headquarters component, 94 District Offices led by a Presidentially Appointed United States Marshal (USM), and offices Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS). The missions of the USMS include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset forfeiture, investigating and apprehending fugitives and violent offenders, investigating and apprehending unregistered sex offenders, prisoner transportation, management, and custody, and providing assistance in matters of Federal emergencies and other critical incidents.

• Serve as the principal to the General Counsel and as a primary legal advisor to the USMS Director, Deputy Director, General Counsel, and USMS management.
• Represent the US Marshals Service in all courts, administrative hearings and proceedings, and labor negotiations.
• Responsible for the daily management, coordination, and direction of subordinate staff engaged in the various legal, legislative, administrative, and regulatory activities of the Office of General Counsel.
• Draft or evaluate proposed legislation which may affect the USMS and makes recommendations regarding the legislation.
• Represent the US Marshals Service in meetings and conferences with high ranking government officials, representatives from federal, state and local governments, officials from private or public organizations, and the general public on matters pertaining to the USMS to include USMS policies, procedures and operations.
