Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts with every other weekend required

• 13-week assignment duration with ASAP start date

• Care for cardiac surgery patients post-ICU in cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit

• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio during all shifts

• Must have 2 years of RN experience with strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown background

• Experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required

• Cardiac surgery or cath lab experience preferred

• Experience with CVSD patients and telemetry monitoring essential

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

• Must have active VA license or compact license in hand at submission

• EPIC charting system experience required - training class dependent on experience level

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• Skills include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, chest tube management, post-cardiac procedures, and various cardiac interventions

• Adult patient population only

• Smoke/nicotine free facility

• Weekend coverage required with minimal time off requests preferred

The facility maintains a 21-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various ancillary services. The organization emphasizes high-quality cardiac care and utilizes EPIC charting systems with structured orientation and training programs for healthcare professionals.
