Job Details:

• Float position requiring willingness to work across multiple units including IMC, Tele 1 (cardiac), Tele 2 (non-cardiac), and M/S

• Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required

• No on-call responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends

• 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week contract period

• Must have 3 years of experience with travel experience required

• Active Virginia or Compact License required at time of submission

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Cardiac Telemetry

• Preferred certifications: NIH

• Must have PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience

Required skills:

Management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, rapid response team utilization, pre/post cardiac catheterization experience, central line care management, PICC line management, heparin protocols, managing and titrating cardiac drips, isolation precautions

• Preferred skills:
Starting IVs, traumatic brain injury experience, peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, wound care/wound VAC

• Epic charting system experience required

• Must attend Epic training class (accelerated or 2-day based on experience)

• Adult patient population only

• Smoke/nicotine free facility

• Up to 7 hours of non-billable modules required during orientation

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates an intermediate care unit that specializes in caring for pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma patients. The unit focuses on patients requiring advanced airway management, including those with tracheostomies and ventilators, high flow oxygen, or BiPAP, as well as patients on various cardiac drips and those with chest tubes and Zephyr valves. The facility provides comprehensive support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
