Certified Medical Assistant – Float

• Register patients and collect necessary demographic, insurance, and eligibility information
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling
• Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history and documenting accurately in the medical record
• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, EKG, pregnancy testing) and report results to providers
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory levels
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the medical record system
• Support front desk responsibilities, including phone management and patient communication
• Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed
• Complete opening and closing duties, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
• Perform equipment checks, quality control, and troubleshooting as needed
• Follow all clinical, safety, and organizational policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire)
• Must be obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting program (preferred)
• Experience in urgent care, emergency department, or hospital setting (preferred)
• Prior experience with patient registration or front desk responsibilities (preferred)

Demonstrates proficiency in patient registration, medical history documentation, and vital sign measurement while ensuring compliance with clinical and safety policies. Capable of performing point-of-care testing and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
