Position Overview

CLFC Healthcare & Communications is building a nationwide network of respite care providers who give military caregivers something rare: a real break. As a Level 3 Respite Care Provider you deliver one-on-one care for a family member with special needs, in the family's home or another approved location, so the primary caregiver can rest, run errands, or simply breathe.

Level 3 care centers on daily living support: meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, dressing, and keeping the individual safe and engaged. You are matched to families near you, you confirm assignments through CLFC's BRIDGE App, and you walk into every appointment with a complete service plan in hand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive one-on-one care for an exceptional family member according to the family's service plan.
  • Assist with activities of daily living: meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, and dressing.
  • Maintain a safe environment at all times and engage the individual in appropriate activities.
  • Arrive on time and complete the full scheduled service period for every appointment.
  • Document each visit and promptly report any observed changes in needs, behavior, or health.
  • Claim and confirm assignments through CLFC's BRIDGE App.

Required Qualifications

  • One of the following: an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as child development or special education); OR a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with at least one year of post-certification experience; OR a minimum of two years of direct, documented experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Current CPR certificate obtained through a course with a hands-on, in-person skills assessment (online-only certification does not qualify).
  • Ability to favorably complete federal background screening, including a Tier 1 investigation, National Sex Offender Registry check, and state and local child abuse registry checks.
  • Reliable transportation to assignment locations.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with military families or the Exceptional Family Member Program.
  • Behavioral support or de-escalation training.
  • Experience supporting children or adults with developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Engagement Details

  • $19.00 to $26.00 per hour depending on assignment location, with premium rates in designated high-cost markets.
  • Flexible, claim-based scheduling that fits around your life; consistent assignments with the same families.
  • Paid training pathways to expand your qualifications, including behavioral support skills.
  • W-2 employment with payroll convenience; no invoicing on your end.
  • Meaningful work: every completed visit directly supports a military family's readiness and well-being.
