Air‑Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. AHRI has an opening for an Enterprise Architect
. This role is the strategic technical resource responsible for leveraging technology to meet the organization’s goals. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining our IT architecture in line with our organizational objectives and has significant exposure to users and all levels of management and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with established and emerging technology, business planning, governance and risk management, able to converse fluently with all levels of technology professionals, and most importantly, strive to deliver a quality application portfolio.
duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Partner with stakeholders and product owners to design and maintain all aspects of an enterprise architecture that advances AHRI’s mission.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks within the IT portfolio.
- Develop and maintain a strategic IT roadmap and ensure that roadmap aligns with the organization’s objectives.
- Establish reference architectures, architectural standards, product roadmaps, and development methodologies.
- Enforce IT standards to promote the consistent use of technology.
- Create and maintain a library of architectural documentation and artifacts.
- Research, evaluate, and implement relevant new technologies and techniques.
- Mentor development resources on the adoption of relevant technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college/university. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be preferred.
- Eight to 10-plus years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, systems architecture and/or designing technology solutions.
- Progressively responsible experience in project planning, systems analysis and design, application development, and software testing techniques.

The salary range for this position is $164,736 - $209,480 based upon experience.
The work location for this position is Arlington, VA. Subject to supervisor approval, AHRI employees are eligible for participation in AHRI’s alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment and a 90‑day appraisal at a level of meets expectations.
