Atlas Connections is partnering with a design firm to identify a highly capable, proactive IT Operations Manager to own and lead the company’s IT function. This person will work closely with executive leadership and serve as the single point of accountability for IT systems, tools, security, and operational support across the business.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on leadership role with a clear path to grow into a broader IT Manager / Head of IT position as the firm scales. The ideal candidate is confident, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in executive environments while also rolling up their sleeves to execute day-to-day technical responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary IT leader and trusted advisor to senior leadership
- Translate business needs into secure, scalable technology solutions
- Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities across systems and processes
- Represent IT with professionalism, sound judgment, and executive presence
- Own day-to-day IT operations across corporate systems, networks, and endpoints
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure to support business operations and growth
- Establish IT standards, policies, documentation, and best practices
- Manage hardware/software procurement, lifecycle planning, and vendor relationships
- Own cybersecurity posture, access controls, and endpoint security
- Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, backups, and disaster recovery plans
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation
- Support compliance with applicable security and data protection frameworks (e.g., SOC, ISO, GDPR)
- Administer identity and access management systems (Active Directory, SSO, Microsoft 365)
- Oversee system performance, uptime, and reliability
- Partner with HR and Finance on onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning
- Plan and execute IT initiatives aligned with company growth and operational needs
- Evaluate new tools, platforms, and vendors with an enterprise mindset
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Provide hands-on technical support as needed, including executive support
- Deliver a high-touch, “white-glove” IT experience for leadership and employees
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or IT management
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Networking and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange)
- Identity and access management (AD, SSO)
Preferred
- Experience supporting executive teams and/or fast-growing organizations
- Background in infrastructure, technology-driven, or operationally complex environments
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, and IT roadmaps
