Overview
Do you like helping organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solving technical challenges? Are you committed to transforming the way government agencies partner with industry to meet mission requirements? Do you have experience planning, executing, managing and delivering large complex projects? AWS is the leading cloud provider, offering infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services globally. AWS operates a globally distributed multi-tenant infrastructure.
Governmental organizations rely on AWS for cloud solutions to support their missions.
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to support AWS Global Infrastructure Operations (Infra-Ops). This organization operates rapidly, building and scaling high-availability data centers that support government customers. They execute server and network equipment installations, IT hardware repairs, data center mechanical and electrical system operations and maintenance, physical security operations, and logistics operations for data center build projects.
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. You will use judgment, negotiation skills, influence, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and accelerate project delivery.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (written and verbal), comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities, and capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts. They will bring infrastructure and network project management, data center operations, process creation and improvement, critical thinking, and risk management to the role. They will apply project management tools, methodologies, and techniques across all phases of the lifecycle and demonstrate core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting, and metrics development/tracking.
The candidate must be comfortable managing remote project delivery teams and facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot implementation issues, removing barriers to project success. The role requires proficiency in project management and design tools for all lifecycle phases. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, Asana/MS Project, CAD, and architectural design software (CAD or Visio or Bluebeam). Experience with Playbook, SQL, and systems integration is a plus.
This position requires that the candidate be a US Citizen and hold an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, with the ability to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which AWS work is performed.
