Overview
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a People Soft Developer to support our growing team. This role supports Federal Government HR modernization programs, primarily within on-premise People Soft environments, with future considerations for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as the platform evolves. The successful candidate will be a self-sufficient developer capable of designing, building, troubleshooting, and documenting complex technical solutions, while collaborating effectively with functional teams, testers, leads, and fellow developers in a SAFe/Scaled Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and support customizations, interfaces, reports, conversions, and extensions for People Soft HCM using People Code, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, BI Publisher/XML Publisher, and SQL.
- Support People Soft HCM modules such as Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Position Management, and Employee/Manager Self-Service, including enhancements, fixes, and production support.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve defects, data issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures across online, batch, reporting, and interface processes.
- Coordinate closely with business analysts, functional SMEs, testers, DBAs, architects, release managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions and support testing and deployment activities.
- Support PUM image adoption, de-customization efforts, People Tools upgrades, patching, retrofits, and environment synchronization activities across development, test, and production environments.
- Participate in SAFe/Scaled Agile ceremonies and use Azure Dev Ops (ADO) to track user stories, tasks, defects, sprint progress, dependencies, and delivery metrics.
- Develop and maintain technical design documentation, configuration documentation, migration instructions, and release support artifacts for development and maintenance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on People Soft development experience, including at least 3 years supporting People Soft HCM in a Federal Government or similarly complex enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in the People Soft technology stack, including People Tools, Application Designer, People Code, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, Process Scheduler, BI Publisher/XML Publisher, and SQL.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting on-prem People Soft environments; understanding of OCI architecture and cloud migration considerations is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with developers, team leads, testers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a SAFe/Scaled Agile delivery environment.
- Experience with People Soft HCM modules, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Position Management, and related self-service functionality.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, preferably Oracle 19c, including SQL optimization, query tuning, and data troubleshooting; knowledge of Oracle APEX for supporting utilities or lightweight applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with People Soft Integration Broker, web services, file-based interfaces, batch processing, and related middleware/integration patterns.
- Experience with People Soft Test Framework (PTF), structured system/integration testing, and coordination with QA and UAT teams.
- Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) for backlog tracking, user stories, sprint boards, defects, roadmaps, and reporting/metrics; this is valued from a delivery-tracking perspective rather than Dev Sec Ops .
- Experience with People Soft Update Manager (PUM), de-customization, retrofits, migration/change control, and support for People Tools and HCM upgrades.
- Experience with operational/support tools such as PHIRE, Stonebranch, or similar enterprise scheduling, migration, or control tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting People Soft implementations within the Army, DoD, or other Federal civilian/defense environments is highly desirable.
