Sr. Manager, Solution Architecture, AWS Federal Financials

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated technical manager to coach, grow, and partner with skilled Solutions Architects serving federal financial agencies and institutions. As a Manager of Solutions Architecture within our AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Federal Financial practice, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Cloud Front) directly with federal financial customers and AWS Partners.

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer-facing and technical skills of your team. You will lead efforts to drive successful customer outcomes across federal financial regulatory agencies, government-sponsored enterprises, and related organizations. A solid understanding of all major cloud service providers — not just AWS — is important, as is familiarity with the unique regulatory, compliance, and security requirements of the federal financial sector (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST frameworks, and agency-specific ATOs).

We are looking for a technical leader who is passionate about helping federal financial customers modernize their IT environments and adopt cloud  will work with your team to provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership, ensuring best practices around security, compliance, and operational excellence. You will also serve as a subject matter resource on security as it relates to customer applications and services in regulated federal environments.

You will help team members ramp up on AWS, develop deep expertise in federal financial workloads, and build speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS — including our Service Teams, Marketing, Business Development, Public Sector Compliance, and the broader Solutions Architecture organization — as well as representing your team to executive management.

• As a key member of the Federal Financial Solutions Architecture team, ensure our customers' success in building, migrating, and securing infrastructure, software, and services on the AWS platform leveraging best practices and modern architectures
• In partnership with the sales and business development teams, formulate and execute a strategy to drive successful customer outcomes across the federal financial portfolio
• Hire, on‑board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects with a focus on federal financial domain expertise, security best practices, and compliance frameworks
• Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many technical engagements, including whiteboard sessions, small and large group presentations, and deep‑diving workshops
• Provide best practices to customers and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform in regulated federal environments
