Machine Learning Engineer, Data & Machine Learning; DML

Overview

US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance required. The AWS Professional Services (Pro Serve) team seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to design, implement, and scale AI/ML solutions that meet customer technical and business objectives. The role involves collaborating directly with customers, developing generative AI applications, conducting experiments, and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Design and implement complex, scalable, and secure AI/ML solutions on AWS tailored to customer needs, selecting and fine‑tuning appropriate models for each use case.
• Develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning models and generative AI applications that solve real‑world business problems at scale.
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders to identify high‑value AI/ML use cases, gather requirements, and propose effective strategies for implementation.
• Provide technical guidance on responsible and cost‑efficient AI deployment, troubleshoot throughout project delivery, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor on the latest AI/ML advancements, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to leverage diverse data sources for maximum business impact.
• Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, creating reusable AI/ML artifacts, and evaluating technical feasibility of new technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, data analysis tools, and parameter tuning.
• Experience in professional software engineering practices covering the full software development life cycle—including coding standards, architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI.

• Master’s degree or above in STEM.
• Experience leading multi‑team, cross‑disciplinary projects.
• Experience applying quantitative analysis to solve business problems and making data‑driven decisions.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application to reasoning and problem‑solving.
• Experience defining and creating benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL/No
  
  SQL, and API development for building and deploying AI/ML solutions.
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and generative AI frameworks.
