INflow Federal is seeking a UX/UI Designer to lead user interface design and front‑end development for an enterprise Case Management and Survivor Support System within a Department of Defense (DoD) modernization program. This position focuses on delivering intuitive, accessible, and responsive interfaces that enhance mission performance and user engagement across web and mobile environments.

The developer will drive Human‑Centered Design (HCD) and user experience optimization from initial concept through sustainment, ensuring all interfaces meet accessibility, security, and performance standards across multiple Impact Levels (IL2–IL5).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces supporting multiple mission systems and portals.
  • Translate user stories, wireframes, and mockups into functional front‑end code using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Ensure all interfaces comply with Section 508 and WCAG 2.x accessibility standards and DoD usability policies.
  • Apply Human‑Centered Design (HCD) principles to refine user journeys, conduct design reviews, and optimize workflow navigation.
  • Develop design system components and UI style guides to ensure consistency across CMS and Survivor Portal modules.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers, back‑end developers, and business analysts to align design intent with functional and technical requirements.
  • Integrate data visualization and dashboard elements to enhance situational awareness and reporting capabilities.
  • Perform front‑end performance testing, accessibility audits, and cross‑browser validation.
  • Implement Agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support CI/CD integration of front‑end components and contribute to automated testing and code quality pipelines.
  • Provide mentorship and peer review for junior front‑end developers.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity and Dev Sec Ops  teams to ensure code security, input validation, and compliance with DoD RMF and STIG requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of UI standards, reusable components, and interaction patterns for sustainment teams.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Type Script.
  • Expertise in one or more modern frameworks:
    React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Axure).
  • Experience implementing RESTful API integrations and secure front‑end data handling.
  • Familiarity with AWS Gov Cloud environments and deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding of DoD accessibility, usability, and security requirements, including RMF and STIG compliance.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Interactive Media, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in UI/UX design.
Required Clearance
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
