Data Scientist – Opportunities and Impact
As a Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will transform complex structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources—including IoT, fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence—into actionable insights that help our clients make informed decisions. Your work will be collaborative, problem‑solving, and focused on creating real‑world impact.
Responsibilities• Work closely with clients to identify business questions and data requirements.
• Explore, clean, analyze, and visualize data to uncover patterns and relationships.
• Design, develop, and deploy predictive models, quantitative analyses, and visualization tools.
• Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Leverage machine learning, AI, NLP, and text‑mining techniques as appropriate to solve domain problems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or mining
- Minimum 2 years of experience with statistical and general‑purpose programming languages for data analysis
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data sources
- Experience in developing predictive data models and visualizing targeted data sets
- Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing
- Knowledge of text mining or machine learning techniques
- Secret clearance (will be verified during the hiring process)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Experience developing algorithms using R, Python, or SQL/No
SQL - Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Map Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL
- Experience with visualization libraries (Plotly, Seaborn, ggplot2, etc.)
- Advanced or TS/SCI clearance
- Master’s degree (preferred)
The selected candidate must undergo a security investigation. Secret clearance is required; additional clearance may be obtained as needed.
Compensation and Benefits• Total compensation range: $77,600.00 – $ (annualized USD) – based on location, education, experience, and contract factors.
