We are seeking a seasoned analytics professional to lead complex data exploration and analytics projects for the U.S. Department of Defense. The role focuses on developing actionable insights from large, heterogeneous data sets using advanced machine learning, generative AI, and natural language processing techniques. You will guide a team that serves critical missions from end to end and work on innovative decision‑support tools for Navy and DoD environments.

• Lead end‑to‑end analytics projects, including data acquisition, cleaning, exploration, and visualization.
• Design, implement, and deploy predictive models and quantitative analyses using Python and AI/ML frameworks.
• Apply advanced methods such as clustering, topic modeling, entity disambiguation, network analysis, bibliometrics, and econometric analysis to structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain data science tools, ETL pipelines, and machine‑learning models in production environments.
• Manage AI, ML, and GenAI projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and rigorous cross‑validation of model performance.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders, translate business needs into data‑driven solutions, and present results at conferences and internal forums.

• 5+ years of experience in data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or mining.
• 5+ years of experience with statistical and general‑purpose programming languages for data analysis and handling both structured and unstructured data sources.
• Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, object‑oriented programming, and visualizing target data sources.
• Proficiency in clustering, topic modeling, automated query generation, generative AI, large language models, NLP for unstructured data, entity disambiguation, network analysis, bibliometrics and citation analysis, econometric analysis, relationship extraction, or science/technology forecasting.
• Experience with data science tool development, ETL pipeline development, and Python programming.
• Experience designing and managing AI, ML, and GenAI projects aligned to business needs.
• Ability to cross‑validate models to ensure generalizability.
• Secret clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or Statistics.
• CompTIA Security+ CE, Unix+, or AWS Solutions Architect certification (preferred).

• Experience with R, Python, SQL, or No
  
  SQL for algorithm development.
• Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Map Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL.
• Experience with visualization libraries like Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot

• Experience coordinating a workstream and managing tasks across teams.
• Experience in data science focused on science and technology programs.

The projected annualized compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $ USD. This estimate reflects typical salary and is one component of our total compensation package.
