Junior IT Configuration Analyst

Marathon TS is seeking an IT Configuration Analyst to support the CASTLE-NET program. This role is responsible for maintaining and managing Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records, supporting ITIL-based configuration management processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of IT asset and configuration information across the enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Service Now, Configuration Management, IT Service Management (ITSM), and ITIL best practices. This position works closely with Change Management, Service Desk, Asset Management, and Infrastructure teams to ensure configuration items are properly documented, tracked, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records

• Identify, document, and manage Configuration Items (CIs)

• Track relationships between hardware, software, applications, and infrastructure components

• Support configuration audits and data quality initiatives

• Ensure compliance with established configuration management policies and procedures

• Assist with Change Management activities and configuration impact analysis

• Generate reports and metrics related to CMDB accuracy and configuration compliance

• Work with ITSM teams to improve configuration management processes

• Develop and maintain configuration management documentation

• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 4+ years of Configuration Management, IT Asset Management, CMDB Administration, or related ITSM experience

• Experience with Service Now or similar ITSM platforms

• Working knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience working in enterprise IT environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance

• Security+ Certification

• ITIL Foundation Certification

• Federal Government or DoD experience

• Service Now CMDB administration experience

• Experience supporting large-scale IT operations environments
