Key Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end UX vision and strategy across AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and complete buyer journeys spanning discovery, procurement, and deployment.
- Set the bar for B2B marketplace design by translating complex procurement, licensing, and partner management workflows into coherent, human‑centered experiences.
- Influence product and business direction, identifying opportunities where design innovation can transform buyer, seller, and partner outcomes across the AMPS ecosystem.
- Define and drive cross‑service design standards including interaction models, experience principles, design systems, and reusable patterns to ensure consistency.
- Lead end‑to‑end design from strategy through execution: create user flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Mentor and elevate designers across the organization, coaching teams and raising the overall quality of craft, storytelling, and execution.
- Analyze buyer, seller, and partner problems using market research, data, user feedback, and usability findings to create on‑brand design solutions that meet business goals and requirements.
- Serve as a design advocate, evangelizing design excellence and customer‑centric thinking through compelling storytelling and cross‑org collaboration.
- Present design work to user experience teams, product stakeholders, and executive leadership for review, feedback, and alignment.
- Partner with engineering teams to bring experiences to life: provide design specifications, create assets, review implementations, and ensure quality through delivery.
As a Principal UX Designer for AMPS, you will own design across AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and complete buyer journeys that impact millions of customers and thousands of partners worldwide. You’ll lead design strategy from concept through execution, creating user flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity specifications that set the standard for marketplace and B2B experiences. You will partner with product and engineering leaders to influence roadmaps, lead design critiques, mentor designers, and regularly present design work to senior leadership. Your
work thrives in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment while delivering exceptional design at enterprise scale.
- 10+ years of design experience.
- Expertise in User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design.
- Experience leading life‑cycle design projects from strategy through execution.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across geographies and business units.
- Experience mentoring and elevating senior‑level design talent.
- Proficiency in data‑driven strategic and tactical recommendations.
- Experience designing for accessibility and inclusivity.
- Background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or Dev Ops.
- Bachelor's degree or above in design, human‑computer interaction (HCI), or an Associate's degree.
- Experience designing for marketplace, e‑commerce, or two‑sided platforms.
- Track record of building and maintaining design systems at scale across multiple product surfaces.
- Experience with global, distributed teams and designing for international markets.
Base salary ranges vary by location:
- USA, TX, Austin – $ to $ annually.
- USA, VA, Arlington – $ to $ annually.
