Job Description

GDIT is seeking an IT Manager to support our DISA client in the Pentagon. The IT Manager will lead a ten‑person operations team providing IT services to monitor, operate, and maintain the Enterprise Management System (EMS). The EMS architecture supports management of Sensitive but Unclassified, Secret, TS, and SCI networks. The team manages the enterprise applications used to provide network management, discovery, and root cause analysis capabilities for the entire IT infrastructure.

• Leadership and Direction
  • Set the direction for the team, ensuring alignment with Branch Chief goals and organizational objectives.
  • Actively motivate the team, fostering a positive work environment, building morale, and encouraging continuous professional development.
  • Manage the team and oversee the successful completion of all tasks and assigned projects utilizing a Kanban methodology.
• Project and Resource Management
  • Oversee comprehensive resource management, including workload balancing, skill allocation, and capacity planning.
  • Effectively manage these resources and schedules to ensure continuous service availability and timely project delivery.
  • Participate in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and schedules.
  • Plan and prioritize new projects and system upgrades.
• Customer Engagement and Value Creation
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Branch Chief, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Drive the development of new capabilities that create tangible value for the customer.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT operations and end‑user satisfaction, implementing solutions to address those opportunities.
• Tool and Platform Availability Management
  • Manage and ensure high availability, configuration, and optimal performance of critical enterprise tools, including ISE, RSA, LDAP, Ansible, Info Blox, Clear Pass, Cloud Vision, Air Wave, Cyber Secure IMS, Cisco Prime, and Juno Space.

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or Associate’s degree with 7 years of experience.
• 5+ years of related experience in IT project management and at least 3 years of people‑management experience.
• 2+ years of experience working in system administration, networks, and infrastructure environments.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Familiarity with managed tools such as ISE, RSA, Ansible, Info Blox, etc.
• Strong problem‑solving, written, and oral communication skills.
