(40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $130,100 - $176,000)
- Own and drive end-to-end user & strategic research studies across multiple highly technical AWS product verticals.
- Design and execute strategic user research projects leveraging a blend of qualitative (cognitive walkthroughs, ethnographic studies, semi-structured interviews) and quantitative (large scale surveys, customer telemetry data, A/B testing) methodologies to uncover actionable customer insights at scale that improve the end user experience.
- Identify the best research methods and questions to optimize phases of research: defining research objectives, target users, protocol development, data collection, analysis, and synthesis across the product development lifecycle with business goals, timelines, and resourcing in mind.
- Perform quick but thorough analysis to create actionable findings and communicate timely results and opportunities.
- Interpret behavioral interaction data to inform both UI/UX decisions and product feature updates.
- Provide a wide variety of stakeholders in Product, Design, Engineering and Data Science insights into market opportunities and work backward from the customer to understand features, detailed functional requirements, and end user needs.
- Manage a queue of multiple simultaneous studies and projects – some of which you lead, some of which are led by designers, PMs, engineers, and others.
- Mentor and assist others in implementing large and small portions of the end-to-end research process (forming objectives, observing sessions, analysis, reporting).
- Raise UX and research fluency throughout the organization and grow knowledge in additional strategic research areas (genAI, pricing, brand trust).
- Travel to conduct in-person customer research meetings or telecommute to connect with customers and stakeholders distributed across the United States.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Science or a related discipline.
- 3 years of experience in all aspects of the UX research lifecycle, including study design, stakeholder involvement, planning, recruiting, moderation, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights, reporting, communicating, data visualization, and knowledge management.
- 3 years of experience in core usability tools and platforms and research methods across qualitative, quantitative, attitudinal, behavioral, generative, and evaluative categories.
- 3 years of experience in data management and analyzing and reporting on medium-to-large quantitative datasets using Excel or Tableau.
- 3 years of experience in synthesizing literature reviews in academia or market research.
- 3 years of experience partnering with design, product, and/or engineering teams to identify user needs and research opportunities that improve the customer experience.
- 3 years of experience communicating research insights to executive leadership of director level and above to drive impact.
- 2 years of experience leading research for consumer-facing digital products, web and mobile.
- 1 year of experience providing research mentorship and guidance to fellow researchers, designers, product managers, and cross‑functional partners via office hours, workshops, or other facilitation.
