Sr. Advanced Compute Specialist SA – National Security Solutions Architecture Team

Amazon Web Services is seeking an Advanced Computing Solutions Architect to support our Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Energy (DoE), and broader U.S. Federal Government customers. The role focuses on leveraging high‑performance computing, quantum computing, custom accelerators, and high‑performance networking to help customers solve complex workloads.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the SME for designing AWS‑based solutions that enable advanced computing workloads and optimize key performance indicators.
- Work across multiple domains, including HPC, quantum computing (Amazon Braket), custom silicon (AWS Graviton, Trainium, Inferentia), and high‑performance networking.
- Collaborate with Specialist SAs to drive adoption of AWS for advanced computing and support large‑scale customer use cases.
- Provide guidance on customer engagements, develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations for customers and partners.
- Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to integrate advanced computing solutions into customer architectures.
- 8+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years working with advanced computing technologies such as accelerated compute, high‑performance compute, or quantum computing.
- Current, active U.S. government security clearance TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Experience with end‑user or developer communities.
- Experience architecting or operating solutions built on AWS.
- Understanding of deep learning training and inference workloads and high‑performance compute, network and storage requirements.
Compensation: – USD annually (Arlington, VA and Herndon, VA). Salary is based on experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base salary, the package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off and parental leave.
United States citizenship required. The selected candidate must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and opt into a commensurate clearance for each agency.
