The AWS Worldwide Public Sector Legal team is looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon Web Services, a rapidly growing business within  The role will support AWS’s public sector sales teams by negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving public sector customers worldwide, with special emphasis on public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators that sell to U.S. Federal, State, and local Government customers.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of general laws relating to government contracting and experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with government customers.

• Support AWS's public sector sales teams by negotiating, drafting, and advising on procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters.
• Negotiate and draft technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. Government agencies, state/local governments, or other public sector customers.
• Work independently and make decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects; collaborate across teams.

• 2+ years of legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines.
• Experience with government procurement and contracting process.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, team environment.
• Experience working cross‑functionally across several teams.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations.
• Experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. government agencies, state or local governments, or other public sector customers.

Base salary range:  -  USD annually (USA, VA, Arlington).
