Senior Solutions Architect, Global Defense Partners

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Sr. Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Global Defense Partners business. The role involves partnering with a cross‑functional team to shape and deliver strategic solutions that advance federal missions using AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, HPC, Amazon Bedrock, and more. You will own the technical engagement and strategy with customers, build proof‑of‑concepts, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and maintain deep expertise in both AWS technologies and the defense mission space.
The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Own the technical engagement and strategy with customers.
- Build and demonstrate proof‑of‑concepts to solve customer problems.
- Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
- Develop expertise in AWS technologies and the customer mission space.
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
- 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or internet industries.
- 5+ years of infrastructure, database, and networking architecture experience.
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience communicating with technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive stakeholders.
- Experience with AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, or data engineering workloads on AWS.
- Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, and ITAR.

Salary range: $ – $ annually (US VA Arlington or US VA Herndon).
