Position: Oracle Middleware / ESB Admin

The role sits within the infrastructure team and focuses on core Oracle technologies, integration services, scripting, secure operations, and reliable support of on-premises middleware platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong Oracle middleware administration skills with troubleshooting, automation, and integration support experience in a structured federal environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, monitor, and sustain Oracle middleware and ESB platforms supporting People Soft and related enterprise applications in a secure, on‑premises environment.
  • Install, configure, patch, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle technologies such as Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Oracle SOA Suite, Web Logic Server, and related middleware components. Support service deployment, routing, transformation, orchestration, connectivity, and interface operations across SOAP, REST, XML, JMS, file‑based, and other enterprise integration patterns.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automations, runbooks, SOPs, and operational procedures using shell scripting, WLST, Jython, or similar tools to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
  • Monitor middleware health, server status, service execution, logs, queues, certificates, connection pools, throughput, and performance; investigate incidents and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Support configuration management, environment synchronization, release deployments, interface validation, and change control across development, test, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with application, database, infrastructure, security, and support teams to troubleshoot integration issues, resolve defects, and improve service stability and recoverability.
  • Participate in hardening, vulnerability remediation, access control, audit readiness, backup and recovery planning, and contingency support for middleware platforms operating in highly secured environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of middleware, integration, systems administration, or platform support experience, including hands‑on experience with Oracle middleware or similar enterprise integration platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience administering on‑premises Oracle middleware environments, including Web Logic and ESB/integration components, with familiarity supporting UNIX/Linux operational environments.
  • Ability to write scripts and automations; experience supporting middleware deployments, interface troubleshooting, log analysis, performance tuning, certificates, and secure configuration management.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one; experience in secured federal or DoD environments preferred.
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with People Soft architecture, Integration Broker concepts, enterprise interfaces, batch processing, and Oracle‑based integration patterns supporting HCM or similar ERP platforms.
  • Experience with Oracle Service Bus, Oracle SOA Suite, Web Logic domains, managed servers, adapters, SSL/TLS certificate management, JMS resources, and environment migration practices.
  • Knowledge of middleware operational best practices including high availability, capacity planning, performance tuning, log management, incident response, problem management, and controlled release support.
  • Ability to collaborate across application, integration, infrastructure, security, and operations teams in a structured sustainment environment.

    Onsite/Hybrid as required by the contract and program environment.
