Access and Data Tagging Specialist The OpportunityFor an organization to transform in today's digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data. Effective data management can enable more efficient operations, yielding more growth. As an access and data tagging specialist, you apply your creative‑thinking and analytical mindset to help organizations manage and secure their data assets. We’re looking for an experienced data architect who can deliver cutting‑edge solutions for the warfighter.
As an access and data tagging specialist on our team, you’ll use your technical expertise to design data‑architecture solutions for data tagging. You’ll resolve routine data‑architecture–related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by ensuring data is only available to the intended audience.
In this role, you’ll grow your technical expertise, apply best practices, and use tools such as Collibra or Alation. You’ll guide your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud‑solution components, and you’ll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.

You Have- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, data quality, or metadata management
- Experience applying and maintaining metadata, labels, or tags to datasets and data assets at scale
- Experience working with databases or data platforms to manage access and metadata, and managing user access and permissions in enterprise systems
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and tools
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements as they relate to data classification and handling
- Ability to collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure proper data usage and classification
- Ability to document data standards, tagging conventions, and governance procedures
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAT Level III certification within 30 days of hire
- Experience partnering with data engineering teams to embed tagging and classification into pipelines
- Experience with automated data classification and tagging tools
- Experience working with data governance or catalog tools such as Collibra or Alation

CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
Work Model- Remote:
If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility. - Hybrid:
If this position is listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role. You may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility. - Onsite:
If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
