Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing US Federal Civilian Health business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a solutions architect on the US Federal Civilian team you will help Civilian Health agencies meet their mission goals through using cloud. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on personal and professional growth with both mentorship and the mentoring of others.

• Own the technical engagement and ensure ultimate success of specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world‑class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
• Design and create cloud computing architectures for customers.
• Engage in deep‑dive technical discussions around design and remain intellectually curious about industry trends.
• Deliver technical presentations, including whiteboard sessions and large group presentations.
• Develop and deploy web services, databases, big data, and analytics solutions on AWS.
• Manage website and services operations, database administration, and security.

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.

The base salary range for this position is  –  USD annually for USA, VA, Arlington. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
