Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services directly with customers and AWS Partners.

Your responsibilities include:

• Owning the technical engagement around specific implementation projects.
• Providing best practices to customers and developing deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Being a subject‑matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers.
• Leading efforts to capture and share best‑practices within the AWS Solution Architect community.
• Traveling approximately 30% of the time.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in helping customers design and create cloud computing architectures.
• Loves to learn and keep technical skills current while staying on top of industry trends.
• Strong presentation skills – whiteboard and group presentations.
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and/or migrating to cloud environments.
• Operational experience managing web site/services operations and security.

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 4+ years of specific technology domain experience such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or one of the following certifications: CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP.

• Experience working within software development or Internet‑related industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Experience with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.

Compensation: USD 131,300 – 177,600 annually (location: USA, VA – Arlington or Herndon).
