Design, govern, and evolve the enterprise information architecture within Palantir Foundry. This role is responsible for ensuring ontology objects, metadata, permissions, and enterprise data structures remain consistent, reusable, secure, and scalable across multiple applications and projects. They serve as the steward of the enterprise ontology by balancing application‑specific needs with long‑term enterprise reuse, consistency, security, and interoperability. Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ontology models using Palantir Ontology Manager.
Define and govern enterprise metadata standards to ensure consistent implementation across applications, domains, and portfolios. Manage the lifecycle of enterprise ontology objects, including creation, promotion, versioning, deprecation, and stewardship. Monitor ontology usage and identify opportunities to improve reuse, reduce duplication, and resolve conflicts across projects. Partner with application teams to ensure ontology objects align with enterprise standards while meeting business needs.
Design and maintain APIs and integration patterns that enable consistent access to shared ontology objects and API gateway principals. Develop governance processes for enterprise ontology promotion, object ownership, and change management. Support data access, permission, and group management by helping define appropriate access models and governance practices. Ensure ontology objects, metadata, and related assets are accurately cataloged and aligned with the Enterprise Metadata Schema and Data Asset Inventory.
You Will Need
- ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience, including at least three (3) years of hands‑on experience in enterprise data modeling, information architecture, metadata management, ontology management, or data governance.
- Experience designing and maintaining ontologies within Palantir Foundry.
- Understanding of enterprise metadata management and information architecture principles.
- Experience defining and governing enterprise data standards.
- Understanding of identity, permissions, group management, and access control concepts.
- Experience supporting shared enterprise platforms used by multiple application teams.
- Familiarity with API design and integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
- Ability to balance business requirements with long‑term enterprise architecture and governance objectives.
- Strong collaboration skills with engineers, product owners, governance teams, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to support remote, hybrid, and on‑site projects in the DC metro area.
- Nine (9) years of hands‑on data modeling and/or data architecture experience.
- TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain it.
- Experience implementing enterprise metadata catalogs or data asset inventories.
- Experience designing governance processes for ontology lifecycle management.
- Experience resolving ontology conflicts, duplication, and enterprise data standardization challenges.
- Experience supporting classified data environments.
- Proficiency using SQL to validate and analyze enterprise data structures.
