Senior Data Scientist

Arlington, VA. Position may be performed remotely from a home office located within the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria,DC-VA-MD-WV metropolitan statistical area. Employee will report to Vericol, LLC’s headquarters at 2809 N Edison Street, Arlington, VA 22207.

$118,040 – $156,000/yr

Founded in 2019, Vericol has built on its founder’s expertise andmarket familiarity to build a diverse business in the government contracting industry. Vericol’s founder and CEO has held suchroles as Chief Growth Officer and Chief Data Scientist for IT contractors serving the federal government. Vericol’s business isin three areas, as described below.

Vericol provides consulting services to government contractors tohelp them win work with the federal government. This includes organizational design, process improvement, and policy development. Vericol also helps companies with strategic sales efforts on particular contract opportunities, including market research, solution architecture, and proposal writing.

Vericol offers data architecture and data strategy consulting for commercial companies and government customers. Vericol’s work includes data reconciliation of enrollment data discrepancies between the federal government and insurance companies that participate in the Affordable Care Act/Healthcare.gov. Vericolalso works directly with commercial clients to identify opportunities to extract hidden value from their operational and transactional data.

Vericol is developing a suite of software tools for government contractors, beginning with a sales pipeline management application and a staffing assignment system. Vericol has Bet aversions of both applications.

• Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to support business decision-making, strategic planning, and operational improvements
• Develop and implement analytical techniques and applications to transform raw data into meaningful insights using data-oriented programming languages and visualization tools
• Apply statistical models and advanced analytics to generate predictive solutions and actionable outcomes
• Design and create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
• Collaborate with clients and teams to understand data requirements and support automation, machine learning, and product development initiatives

  Work Experience:
  
  Master’s degree in Data Analytics Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related engineering degree, plus 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a related role
• Skillset: Experience in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Governance and Management. Proficiency in programming languages and tools including Python, R, SQL, Spark, Snowflake, AWS, and Tableau
