Data Scientist

Research, design, and develop visualization solutions for investigative and audit products
Design experiments, test hypotheses, and develop scalable data science, AI, and machine learning models
Design, develop, and adapt mathematical, statistical, econometric, and analytical solutions
Analyze data to support ETL strategies, pattern recognition, and analytical tools
Review, analyze, and modify existing products through coding, debugging, testing, and documentation
Develop, manage, and optimize automated data pipelines
Integrate data from flat files, relational databases, and external systems using JDBC/ODBC, REST APIs, and web scraping
Provide coworkers guidance on business and technical project issues
Assist with training and conference development, including presentations
Facilitate communication between business owners, end users, database administrators, and IT support staff
Ensure compliance with quality and security guidelines
Coordinate with staff and customers to identify and document requirements
Produce written documentation and technical artifacts, including technical designs from user requirements
Assist the agency with programming and data visualization solutions
Troubleshoot and provide technical support for existing projects and applications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field
• 5+ years of coding experience utilizing SQL, Python, R, and Java Script
• 3+ years of experience with Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, text and/or data mining, and statistical and mathematical methods
• Prior experience with AWS or Azure services such as Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops and/or Git Hub
• Experience supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines and working within Agile frameworks
• Ability to create datasets, visualizations, and interactive reports using programming languages and business intelligence applications
• Proficiency applying analytical techniques to business problems, including optimization, simulation, classical and spatial statistics, and programming languages
• Strong writing and documentation skills
• Strong relational database and querying language experience
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years
• Cannot have more than 6 months of travel outside the United States within the last 5 years; military service excluded
• Professional certification(s) in a related field preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills

Demonstrates expertise in developing scalable data science and machine learning models, along with strong capabilities in data visualization and analytical solutions. Proficient in SQL, Python, R, and JavaScript, with a solid understanding of AWS or Azure services and Agile methodologies.
