Description D3 Air and Space Operations, Inc. is seeking a Space Systems and Military Technology Analyst to support the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs (SAF/IA). The analyst brings operational, tactical, and technical space expertise to support Air Force and Space Force equities associated with the export of space systems and related military technologies across USSF mission areas including Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Space-Based Sensing and Targeting (SBST), Space Control, Navigation Warfare / PNT, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Missile Warning and Tracking (MWT), Theater Electromagnetic Warfare, and Space Access.

The analyst shall:

  • Support the development, refinement, and implementation of Department of the Air Force (DAF) export and foreign disclosure guidance for systems, platforms, equipment, subsystems, and processes that impact or operate in the space environment.
  • Proactively identify technology release and foreign disclosure (TRFD) requirements, challenges, and processes specific to space systems and technologies.
  • Coordinate with industry, systems groups, the interagency, and other stakeholders to facilitate the export of interoperable space systems to international partners.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes related to the release and export of U.S. space technologies and information to international partners.
  • Provide technical support (briefings, papers, talking points) to USG engagements with foreign military and government officials.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to SAF/IA and USSF leadership on security cooperation, security assistance, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for space systems.
  • Work on-site at government facilities in the NCR; travel up to 25%.

Position Space Systems and Military Technology Analyst

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (International Affairs emphasis desired per BAH RFP; BAH posting lists Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or CS).
  • FINAL TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in space operations, preferably in SDA, SBST, Space Control, Electromagnetic Warfare, SATCOM, Missile Warning/Missile Tracking, Space Access, or PNT.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to work on-site at government facilities and travel up to 25%.
Highly Desired
  • Graduate of Space 100, Space 200, and Space 300, or other customer-approved equivalent experience.
  • Experience performing operational space functions in support of a combat-coded unit, particularly a unit with a strong space foundation.
  • Experience working with foreign militaries.
  • Previous Headquarters-level staff experience.
  • Experience merging Title 10 (DoD) and Title 50 (Intelligence) data for foreign partners; expertise in Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS), Multi-Level Security (MLS) architectures, and automated data tagging/filtering.
  • Master’s degree in International Affairs or a STEM field.
Knowledge and general understanding of:
  • USSF roles and missions.
  • USSPACECOM roles and missions.
  • Combined Operations and Component Command relationships.
  • SAF/IA’s role within and relationship to the security cooperation community.
  • Security cooperation, international affairs, security assistance, and FMS – process, legislation, and players.
