Job Description & How to Apply Below

Your future has many paths. Be ready for them all.

Toffler Associates is a future-focused strategic advisory firm working with government and commercial clients to help leaders navigate uncertainty and shape durable advantage. Through our proprietary Future Proof® approach, we help organizations understand how emerging shifts impact today's decisions-so they can manage risk, capture opportunity, and create lasting value.

We are seeking a Senior Account Lead, Defense to drive growth and delivery across our Defense portfolio. This role is a senior leadership position responsible for owning account strategy, expanding client relationships, leading major capture efforts, and building high‑performing teams that deliver meaningful outcomes for our clients.

This is a role for a builder‑someone who combines strategic advisory credibility with the ability to grow accounts, lead complex pursuits, and develop the next generation of consultants.

Your Impact:

As a senior leader at Toffler Associates, you will:

  • Own and grow Defense accounts, leading multimillion‑dollar capture and expansion efforts from opportunity identification through contract award and delivery
  • Operate with an entrepreneurial, hands‑on approach, contributing where needed across growth, capture, and delivery while maintaining a clear view of long‑term account and firm strategy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Defense executives, bringing deep mission understanding and strategic insight to complex organizational, operational, and future‑readiness challenges
  • Lead full‑life‑cycle business development, including shaping go‑to‑market strategies, forming teaming relationships, guiding pricing and proposal development, and closing contracts
  • Develop and execute account growth plans aligned to firm strategy, revenue targets, and profitability objectives
  • Lead delivery excellence post‑award, ensuring high client satisfaction, strong financial performance, and proactive risk management
  • Build, lead, and mentor multidisciplinary teams, with a clear expectation to develop junior consultants into confident, client‑facing leaders
  • Navigate complex acquisition, procurement, and funding environments, advising clients with credibility across governance, contracting, and resourcing models
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks to account performance, reputation, and client trust
What You Bring:

You will arrive with:

  • 12+ years of management consulting experience, including executive‑level client engagement and leadership of high‑performing teams
  • 10+ years leading Defense or comparable federal accounts, with a demonstrated track record of account growth, capture success, and trusted client relationships
  • Deep understanding of Defense missions, operational concepts, policy, and doctrine, supported by hands‑on experience in complex federal environments
  • Proven expertise in federal acquisition, procurement, contracting, and funding mechanisms
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with P&L ownership, financial metrics, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent, mentor junior staff, and build sustainable teams—not just deliver projects
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; master's degree preferred
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, proposal development tools, and collaboration platforms
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret clearance
  • Ability to work regularly in the Washington, DC metropolitan area
How We Support You:

  • A flexible, agile, employee‑driven environment that supports professional excellence and personal balance
  • A deeply collaborative culture grounded in transparency, trust, and diversity of thought
  • A community of curious, lifelong learners committed to meaningful work and continuous growth
  • Leadership that encourages you to leverage existing relationships, build new ones, and shape the firm’s future
